CARROUSEL QUEENS SCHOLARSHIP
PROGRAM
Through the years Carolinas' Carrousel, Inc. has given
representatives from area high schools the opportunity to
compete for numerous scholarships as well as participate in many
exciting activities, culminating in the traditional ride in the
Carolinas' Thanksgiving Day Parade.
The Carolinas' Carrousel Scholarship program is not to be considered a beauty pageant. The program recognizes academic excellence, community involvement, character and presentation.
Under the auspices of the Belk Carrousel Scholarship Fund,
awards include five cash scholarships ($3,000, $2,000, $1,600,
$800, and $700). Additional grant opportunities from various colleges and universities may also be
presented.
Here's how the program works:
- Invitations are extended in the spring to area high schools.
These invitations to participate and informatin packets for the 2010 program will be sent to area high schools on April 12.
- Participation is capped at 60 High Schools.
- Schools that participated in the previous year have priority.
- There is not an "open" category of participation in this
program. Representatives must be selected by their
respective school.
- Each high school selects one Representative to participate.
Carolinas' Carrousel, Inc. does not dictate how the school
selects its representative, however we do require that all
representatives meet our basic
Conditions of Eligibility
and be selected in time to meet the Carrousel program’s
deadlines (see
Carrousel Queens’ Schedule
Deadlines).
If your school would like to participate in this program and you
have not received an information packet by Friday, April 16, 2010, contact:
