CONDITIONS OF ELIGIBILITY and SCORING FORMAT

Carrousel Queens’ Scholarship Program
Candidates must:
-
Be selected by their high school and be a Senior at the time
of participation.

Demonstrate superior scholastic attainments with a minimum
3.0 GPA
-
Demonstrate moral force of character, leadership abilities,
and an interest in fellow students and community.
-
Provide three (3) letters of recommendation.
A comprehensive list of representative and queen guidelines and
qualifications is included in application packet mailed to
schools.

About the Interviews:
-
Representatives interview with the panel of judges.
-
Each interview is 10-12 minutes.
-
Interviews are done on a rotating schedule on the 2nd
Saturday in November.
-
No overnight stays are required
-
The
interview seeks out a well-rounded student who is above
average academically, involved in extra curricular school
and community activities, and has the ability to meet and
communicate pleasingly with people.

This category encompasses the over-all impression made with
the presentation of information packets, attitude,
appearance, and ability to communicate thoughts.
Letters of Recommendation:
-
Three letters of recommendation are required as a part of
the application. Letters must NOT be from family or peers
and must include at least one school official (teacher,
principal, coach, or counselor) and one community leader.
