WELCOME!

THE END OF AN ERA . . .

In 1947, the Carrousel Parade marched down Tryon Street for the first time. In the decades since, it has been the traditional kick-off to the holiday season in the Charlotte region. In 2012 it was named by US News & World Report as one of America's Best Thanksgiving Day Parades and it has been ranked among the nation’s top Thanksgiving parades for many years. Sadly, due to lack of sufficient sponsorship support, the difficult decision has been made to end the parade.

Has the Carrousel Parade been important to you and your family? Please share your Carrousel memories with us. Contact the Carrousel office at 704-525-0250 or info@carrouselparade.org. Like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter.

We hope to continue the Carrousel Scholarship Program, but sponsorship support is needed.

Can the parade be saved? Not without your support and immediate firm sponsorship commitments. Thanks for your support!

Thank you to all the participants and spectators who made the 2012 Carolinas' Carrousel Parade one of the largest in recent memory. The sunny weather added to the festive celebration of the parade's 65th anniversary, which featured past Carrousel Queens from the parade's history.

East Burke High School's marching band won the Spirit of Carrousel Award and will be the honor band in the 2013 parade.

We are proud to announce that we are included in US News & World Report's list of America's Best Thanksgiving Day Parades.

The parade is seeking sponsors to help keep the tradition alive--please contact the parade office (704-525-0250 or info@carrouselparade.org) for more information!

Congratulations to Mijal Bucay of Providence High School, our 2012 Carrousel Scholar.

Mijal was selected from the group of 58 outstanding students who represented their high schools in the Carrousel Scholarship Program.

Carrousel Needs Sponsors!

The Carrousel Parade and the Carrousel Scholarship Program are produced by Carolinas' Carrousel, Inc., a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. The programs cannot exist without the support and generosity of sponsors and benefactors.

Both of these programs have been important traditions in this region for decades. In 2012, we celebrated the 65th anniversary of the Carrousel Parade and the 45th anniversary of the Carrousel Scholarship Program.

However, the future of the parade and the scholarship program is in jeopardy. We must secure additional sponsorship support in order to continue.

We are reaching out to corporations and organizations in the region to establish new partnerships to ensure that the Carrousel Parade and the Carrousel Scholarship Program will continue bigger and better well into the future. As an ardent supporter of the parade once said:

"I couldn't imagine the Thanksgiving and Christmas season not being ushered in by our Carrousel Parade. There are some things that are truly so much a part of this city that the very character of the city could be changed without them, and this parade is one of those very vital traditions."

Please help keep the tradition alive. Contact Carrousel at 704-525-0250 or info@carrouselparade.org.
